Any Similarity to Persons Living or Dead Is Purely Coincidental #[nn] [First Printing]
Fantagraphics brought together this 1985 anthology showcasing the darkly hilarious work of Drew Friedman and Josh Alan Friedman, and the cover sets the tone perfectly. A massive, hyper-detailed caricatured face dominates the center, surrounded by a collage of smaller comic panels featuring grotesque figures, bizarre characters, and what appears to be a gravestone bearing the name Milton Berle — all rendered in Drew Friedman's unmistakable stippled, photorealistic style. Playboy called it among "the sickest and funniest comics of our time," and one glance at this wonderfully unhinged cover makes it easy to see why.
