“Making It Big!”

In "Making It Big!", Archie and the gang reunite for a shot at stardom when former bandmate Rod Lerock—now a famous rock star—returns to Riverdale with a surprise request. The Archies face off at a national audition, only to fall apart under pressure, but a chance reunion sparks a new chapter when Rod asks them to appear in a TV segment about his legendary past. Written by George Gladir and brought to life with vibrant energy by Stan Goldberg (pencils), Bob Smith (inks), Barry Grossman (colors), and Jack Morelli (letters), this 2007 issue captures the heart and humor of a classic band’s second chance—complete with a cover by Goldberg and Smith that perfectly captures the moment.

Archie shows his garage to a guy name Rod who used to practice with his band there way back when. The Archies then go to a national audition in order to get on TV, but they mess up at the audition. Tempers flare and the Archies split up. A few days later, Archie calls the gang back together just as Rod knocks and asks the Archies to be in a TV segment about his old rock band. Turns out Rod is really Rod Lerock, a famous rock and roll musician.
