“The Shell Game”

In "The Shell Game," Reggie's latest prank takes a messy turn when he pockets a raw egg from cookery class, only to have Mr. Weatherbee mistake it for a cookie and get egg all over his hand. Now, the principal retaliates by taping another egg to the top of Reggie’s head—challenge accepted: if Reggie can keep it intact by day’s end, he wins. With Bill Vigoda handling both the interior art and the cover, this 1952 classic captures the chaos of small-town school antics in a 10-cent comic.

Reggie steals a raw egg from the cookery class and puts it in his pocket in order to give Archie an 'egg shampoo' later that day. Mr. Weatherbee reaches in and grabs the egg thinking that he was stealing cookies like the other boys and gets egg all over his hand. Mr. Weatherbee then tapes another raw egg to the top of Reggie's scalp telling Reggie that if he can keep his chums from 'accidentally' breaking it by the end of the days he wins.
