Aristophania #2
The second volume of Dorison and Parnotte's *Aristophania* opens with a commanding image: a gaunt, white-haired figure in a top hat and heavy coat enthroned atop wooden crates, gripping what appears to be a blade, with a brooding industrial landscape looming behind him. The mood is unmistakably gothic and atmospheric, rendered in deep teals and shadows that give the whole scene a genuinely unsettling weight. Published by Dargaud in 2019, *Progredientes* promises the same richly crafted dark fantasy that made this Franco-Belgian series such a striking entry in contemporary bande dessinée.
