As de Cœur #32
In "Le coupable," Liz, a young woman navigating life after losing both parents, balances a day job with nightly performances in a modest cabaret. A mysterious stranger offers to help her rise in her singing career, but she refuses any shortcuts—until a sudden break comes, followed by a troubling accusation from a rival: that the man who helped her may have been involved in the crash that killed her father. The story unfolds with quiet tension, exploring trust and the cost of success, all drawn in the stark, expressive style of Arédit-Artima’s 1969 run.
