Astonishing Tales #35
In "…And Once Removed from Never," Deathlok’s desperate mind-swap with Simon Ryker backfires in ways neither man anticipated, leaving Ryker’s consciousness fractured across two bodies. With Ryker’s mind now split between his own clone and Deathlok’s cybernetic frame, the line between man and machine blurs further—leaving both men caught in a psychological battle neither can fully control. Written by Bill Mantlo and Rich Buckler, with art by Rich Buckler and inks by Klaus Janson, this 1976 Marvel tale explores identity and control in a world where the self is no longer a given. The cover by Rich Buckler and Klaus Janson captures the eerie fusion of man and machine.

That job is over but Deathlok agrees to help the CIA with the threat from Hellinger.
