☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeProfessor Invento accidentally forgets to teach his new robot how to open doors, resulting in chaos at the laboratory as the robot destroys everything while trying to access a bowl of fish. When Atomic Mouse intervenes, he discovers the robot was designed by Martians and becomes embroiled in a conflict involving the alien visitors and their unusual treatment of creatures from other planets. The story ends with Atomic Mouse discovering the robot's true alien origin and confronting the Martian visitors about their behavior. In a backup story, Atomic Mouse receives an S.O.S. from a ship in distress at sea, rescues the vessel from foundering on a reef, and saves the day as the ship comes into port.
Atomic Mouse has been working tirelessly for a charity drive to help the old and the orphaned—so Count Gatto and Shadow cook up a scheme to exploit the hero's generosity by donning various disguises to score free meals and handouts. But each con gets exposed just as quickly as they cook it up, and Atomic Mouse always seems to be one step ahead of the con artists' next elaborate costume change. When the duo finally tries their most ambitious gambit yet, they discover there's no fooling a hero who knows every trick in the book.
Atomic Mouse assists Professor Invento in testing a revolutionary protective suit—one designed to shield an ordinary mouse from gunshots, extreme cold, and other dangers—by submitting himself to a rigorous battery of trials. Each test pushes the suit's limits, but as the professor prepares to deliver his invention to the army, something unexpected brings the mission to an amusing halt.
Atomic Mouse dreams of singing all day in a cage while a bird wishes to swim in a fishbowl castle, so the two decide to swap places for a while. When the grass proves less green on the other side, they quickly discover that home—exactly as it was—is worth more than any daydream.
Professor Invento builds Burpy, a well-meaning robot, to handle emergencies so Atomic Mouse can finally take a vacation—but when disasters strike, Burpy's limitations quickly become clear, and our hero keeps getting pulled back into action. Just when Atomic Mouse thinks he can finally rest, he discovers that even a stand-in has its limits.
