This elegant French collection from Panini brings together Marvel's two great super-teams under a striking Art Nouveau-framed cover by Paul Renaud, dated 2019. The Avengers side showcases the Vision, Thor, Iron Man, Scarlet Witch, and Captain America with his shield, while the Defenders counter with Doctor Strange, the Hulk, Namor, Silver Surfer, and a sword-wielding warrior — the two factions arrayed back-to-back in a beautifully composed standoff. Alan Davis and Paul Renaud make for a compelling creative pairing, and the tarot-card aesthetic of the cover design gives this 2020 volume a sense of grandeur well suited to the assembled might on display.
