“Evocation d'un mort”

"Evocation d'un mort" delivers a haunting, atmospheric tale in which Deadman recounts a supernatural mystery tied to the stolen Ruby of Khafir. Written by Denny O'Neil and illustrated with striking precision by George Tuska and Neal Adams, the story unfolds in a gothic tower where a hunchback, Nodo, becomes an unwitting pawn in a ghostly vendetta. With moody art and a layered plot, the issue blends noir intrigue and spectral suspense, all anchored by Deadman’s chilling narration and the eerie presence of a vengeful spirit. The cover, by Neal Adams, captures the story’s brooding tone in bold, expressive lines.

Corinna hypnotizes McJames and learns he was forced to steal from the museum when his daughter's spirit was captured by Seth Gross, a vengeful ghost. When the Challs fail to stop the ghost Deadman takes over finding out that Gross is only a petty magician who uses astral-projection. Deadman possesses Gross's body and rescues the girl's spirit.
