This fifth volume of B.P.R.D.: L'Enfer sur Terre — subtitled "Sur les Ailes du Diable" — arrives in a striking cover by Ryan Sook that assembles the Bureau's operatives against a backdrop of fire and shadow: a helmeted agent in a grey suit bearing the B.P.R.D. insignia dominates the foreground, flanked by a blue-tinted figure wielding a curved blade, a dark-clad young woman, a heavily armed soldier, and an ominous robed figure lurking to the right, while a towering, flame-wreathed silhouette looms above them all. Sook's dynamic composition — with its cool blues and scorched oranges pulling against each other — perfectly captures the sense of a team bracing against forces far larger than themselves. A compelling addition to this French-language Delcourt run of one of dark fantasy comics' most consistently gripping ensembles.
