Bart Simpson's Treehouse of Horror: Heebie-Jeebie Hullabaloo #[nn]
A wide-eyed, terror-stricken Bart Simpson sprints away from the Springfield Cemetery gates as a menagerie of nightmares closes in — a knife-wielding Sideshow Bob lookalike on the left pillar, a snarling creature perched atop the gate's arch, and a monstrous Homer Simpson lurking in the gnarled branches to the right. The painted cover art by Julius Preite III (pencils) and Bill Morrison (inks) gives the whole scene a genuinely unsettling, almost cinematic atmosphere that sits perfectly alongside the "Heebie-Jeebie Hullabaloo" subtitle. If you were a Simpsons fan picking this up in 1999, this image alone made it very hard to put back on the shelf.
