À bas les hommes-pigeons! #[nn]
From the French publisher Des ronds dans l'O comes this wonderfully strange 2010 graphic album by Loïc Saulin and Jérôme Farrugia. The cover announces its absurdist intentions immediately: a grotesque, bare-chested pigeon-man hybrid — complete with wings, tail feathers, and a jaunty hat — crouches menacingly atop a Parisian rooftop, the city's chimneys and densely packed façades stretching out behind him. It's a delightfully unsettling image that blends urban realism with surreal creature design, promising a story with both wit and a genuinely weird edge.
