Volume 3 of Yoshifumi Sakurai's *Bathtub Brothers* arrives from Éditions Akata with a cover that throws three very different characters — a wild-haired heavyset man in a "Go to Hell" yellow tee, a sharp-dressed young man, and a red-clad woman — adrift together in what appears to be a flooded urban landscape, a massive whale looming ominously overhead. The sheer contrast between the mundane (a bathtub bobbing in floodwaters) and the surreal (a cityscape half-submerged beneath that enormous creature) captures the series' offbeat energy perfectly. If this 2021 release is any indication, Sakurai keeps the chaos — and the oddball camaraderie — cranked up to a satisfying degree.
