Batman and the Outsiders #3
This third volume collecting Mike W. Barr's run brings together Batman and his unconventional team of heroes for a story subtitled "End of the Line!" — and the Alan Davis cover sets the stakes beautifully. Batman strides forward in the foreground, his blue cape sweeping dramatically outward, while above him the assembled Outsiders — including Geo-Force in his green-and-gold costume, a glowing Halo, Katana, Looker, and the stone-grey Metamorpho — march together against a blazing red-and-yellow backdrop. It's a vivid, confident image of a team that operates on its own terms, and with Barr's writing paired with Davis's sharp linework on the cover, this collection is a genuinely satisfying cap to the series.
