Batman: Brotherhood of the Bat #[nn]
This 1995 DC Elseworlds one-shot imagines a world where the mantle of the Bat has been multiplied — the cover presents a striking army of Batman-costumed figures advancing forward in formation, while a robed figure sits enthroned at the center background, a smaller bat-suited figure at his side and a swarm of bats filling the sky above. The sheer visual weight of so many Dark Knights bearing down at once makes the premise immediately compelling — whose brotherhood is this, and who controls it? Writer Doug Moench and artist Jim Aparo bring their considerable experience to this "Chapter I: Order for a New World," promising an Elseworlds tale with genuine scope and menace.
