When Robin joins Batman's search for the person who stole his father's costume he recalls his own origin and early life as both Robin and Bruce Wayne's ward. After conferring with Robin, Alfred too recalls how he came to work for Bruce Wayne and for Batman. Meanwhile, Batman begins to review his many enemies, including the Joker and Two-Face, but is nearly taken out by a booby-trapped Batmobile.
