“The Joker's Last Laugh!”

In "The Joker's Last Laugh!", the Clown Prince of Crime makes a bizarre wager with his henchmen: he’ll make Batman laugh, no matter what. Using laughing gas at the circus and then a joy buzzer, Joker’s schemes backfire as Batman remains unfazed—until the punchline comes from an unexpected source. The story, inked by Vince Colletta, features a classic showdown with a twist, all captured in the dynamic cover by Ross Andru and Dick Giordano.

Joker makes a bet with his henchmen that he can get Batman to laugh. He uses laughing gas to rob the audience at the circus, and when Batman and Robin show up, he uses the gas on Batman. Not amused, Batman doesn't breathe it in, causing Joker to use a joy buzzer. That doesn't work either, as Batman dunks Joker in a water tank. With Joker behind bars, Batman finally does laugh, as Joker's suit has shrunk.
