Batman / Punisher: Lake of Fire #[nn]
DC and Marvel joined forces in 1994 to deliver this crossover one-shot, written by Dennis O'Neil with art by Barry Kitson and inks by James Pascoe. The cover — penciled by Kitson and inked by Pascoe — captures the tension beautifully: the Punisher charges forward in the foreground, assault rifle blazing amid a storm of spent casings and rising flames, while Batman swoops in from above, cape flared and batarangs at the ready against a vivid, alien-looking backdrop. Two of comics' most relentless crimefighters sharing one explosive frame makes "Lake of Fire" a genuinely compelling addition to any crossover collection.
