During the Korean War retreat from North Korea, American soldiers face a harrowing withdrawal as Chinese forces close in around the peninsula. A Korean interpreter named Kim, reluctantly separated from his newly married wife, must make the difficult choice to stay behind and help the Americans rather than evacuate south with his family. As the troops race to escape across a river bridge, they encounter a motor pool engulfed in flames and chaos, while leadership debates whether to mount a counterattack or continue the retreat into the darkness.

Contains 4 stories
Booby Trap!
6 pp · War

A young soldier learns the deadly mechanics of booby traps from a demolition expert, only to find himself captured by enemy forces who've set an ingenious trap for his advancing company. Racing against time and superior numbers, he must use his newfound knowledge in a desperate gamble to warn his fellow troops before they walk into annihilation.

First Patrol!
6 pp · War

A fresh recruit named David Glenn joins his first patrol into enemy territory with Sergeant Harden and his battle-hardened squad, tasked with probing a suspiciously quiet sector along the front lines. When the patrol discovers a massive enemy buildup—artillery, tanks, and troops preparing for an imminent attack—they find themselves caught between the need to report back and the enemy's determination to silence them. It's a brutal baptism by fire that will test Glenn's nerve and reshape how he understands the weight of command decisions made far from the fighting.

The Conquerors!
6 pp · War

American G.I.s Joe and Charley arrive in occupied Tokyo as part of the victorious army, but the two soldiers clash over how to treat the defeated Japanese population—one sees only enemies, while the other urges patience and understanding. When sabotage and a black market gang threaten the base, suspicion falls on the local civilians, until a group of local children reveal a truth that transforms Joe's hardened perspective on what it means to be conquerors.

Communique!
5 pp · War

A patrol ventures into no-man's-land under cover of darkness to scout enemy positions around Hill 344, tasked with gathering intelligence rather than engaging in direct combat. What begins as a careful reconnaissance mission quickly becomes a brutal fight for survival when the enemy discovers their presence, forcing the soldiers to navigate artillery barrages, machine-gun fire, and a strafing attack just to make it back alive. This is war as the home front never sees it—not the headlines, but the grinding reality of men caught between orders and the simple desire to survive another night.
