The second chapter of Armand Brard and Neyef's *Bayou Bastardise* announces itself with serious attitude — two powerfully built women pose in front of a wall plastered with blues-music handbills, one sporting aviator shades and carrying a submachine gun while a large python coils around both of them, the other leveling a revolver with an easy, knowing smirk. Subtitled "Blues Panthers," this 2018 Ankama release from the 619 Label wraps its Southern-fried danger in a cool, musical atmosphere that feels equally at home in a record shop and a shootout. It's a confident, stylish package that makes clear this series has plenty of swagger to spare.
