Having rejoined the main body of the Wise Dog Society, Miranda accompanies her fellow canines on an investigation. Lundy drives off a giant fire-breathing salamander who had been caught in a trap. While investigating the glyphs on the trap, the Wise Dogs are beset upon by goblins. Killing the creatures, they see the goblins bear the same glyphs on their skin.
