Benchwarmer's Sports Trivia #14661
Bob Alexander's *Benchwarmer's Sports Trivia* announces itself with a wonderfully chaotic cover illustration: a stocky, mustachioed figure in a red jersey numbered "2" and an "Everlost" helmet, simultaneously clutching a basketball, a baseball bat, a tennis racket, boxing gloves, a hockey stick, and what appears to be a hockey skate — practically every major sport crammed into one bursting, colorful character. Surrounding his oversized sneakers are a baseball, football, soccer ball, hockey puck, and more, making the whole image feel like a joyful collision of the entire sports world. NBA Commissioner Larry O'Brien's blurb on the cover says it best: for a 95-cent Tempo Books paperback from 1978, this one comes with some serious bragging rights.
