The third volume of Bergères Guerrières arrives with a cover that perfectly captures the series' blend of fairy-tale wonder and wintry tension — a red-haired girl in a teal cloak stands at the center, her wide eyes fixed on something unseen, while a glowing cave mouth blazes orange behind her companions, one of whom is accompanied by a large pale bear. Writer Jonathan Garnier and artist Amélie Fléchais continue their collaboration with this 2019 Glénat release, and Fléchais's painterly style turns the snow-swept landscape into something both beautiful and quietly ominous.
