The third volume of Leo's science-fiction survival series pulls readers straight into alien wilderness, with a makeshift raft carrying a small group of explorers — and a yellow vehicle — slowly navigating a lush, eerily green river landscape dominated by towering rock formations and dense jungle. Most unsettling are the dark, blade-like fins cutting silently through the water just ahead of the raft, hinting at something formidable lurking beneath the surface. Published by Epsilon in 2005, "Die Expedition" continues to showcase Leo's richly atmospheric artwork and his gift for building dread out of the natural — or not-so-natural — world.
