Contains 4 stories
The Unlucky 13th*
8 pp · Horror-Suspense

In "The Unlucky 13th," Tom Santee, master of Riverview Plantation, is consumed by grief and greed after losing his wife and sons to plague—so much so that he ruthlessly forecloses on his neighbors' farms and orchestrates the deaths of twelve small farmers to seize their land. Thirty years later, now wealthy and powerful, the aging Santee hosts a grand dinner, but his invited guests meet with mysterious accidents on their way to his mansion. As Tom grows impatient, uninvited arrivals make their way toward his home through the darkening night.

The Bitter Joke
6 pp · Horror-Suspense

Casper Smith is a bitter office nobody with unrequited feelings for his coworker, until a carnival fortune teller's mysterious gift grants him the power to transfer his consciousness into other bodies at will. Drunk on newfound confidence and resentment, Casper begins using his strange ability to remake his life—but his vindictive impulses set in motion a twisted chain of events he never saw coming. A 1955 horror tale where one man's wish for a second chance becomes something far darker.

Strange Affection
5 pp · Horror-Suspense

An artist inherits a rambling old house from his aunt and discovers it's far more than just a dwelling—it seems genuinely alive, caring for his every need in ways both comforting and uncanny. When Cal brings home a bride, the house's jealous affection turns sinister, forcing him and his wife into a desperate battle against the very structure that once treated him with such devotion. "Strange Affection" explores what happens when emotional attachment takes on a terrifyingly literal form.

The Man In Black
6 pp · Horror-Suspense

Paul Travis, an ambitious young writer living in a shabby rooming house on Washington Square, struggles to complete his novel until a mysterious midnight visitor appears—a figure who claims to be a former hangman, offering to share a hanged criminal's story in exchange for a sinister bargain. As Paul's book becomes a bestseller and success seems within his grasp, he discovers that some deals, once made, cannot be broken—no matter how hard you try to escape them.
