“Everybody Limbo”

In "Everybody Limbo," the heroes find themselves stranded in a limbo realm, forced into uneasy camaraderie as they wait out their captivity. With the Space Phantom manipulating events from the shadows and Venom's desperate plea for reward ignored, the team must outwit their captor when he returns—only to be caught in a final, unexpected twist. Written by Dwayne McDuffie and illustrated by Scott Kolins, with colors by Paul Mounts and letters by Dave Lanphear, the issue's cover by Scott Kolins captures the tension of a moment just before everything changes.

The heroes have been trapped in limbo by the Space Phantom and start to get personal with each other as they play a waiting game. Venom is still on Battleworld and demands that the Beyonder reward him as all of the other heroes are gone but, as they are still alive, his request goes unanswered. As the Space Phantom returns to limbo to switch bodies, the heroes capture him and force him to return them to Battleworld. The Watcher arrives just in time to watch Hank Pym mow down his companions and win the Beyonder's game.
