Beyond the Farthest Star: Chronicles #1
In "Arriving on Poloda," Tangor takes the first test flight of a desperate escape vessel built by the fish-people of a dying ocean, fleeing the escalating war between Unis and Kapar. After being ambushed by Kapar airships and forced off course, he crash-lands on a mysterious new world where he finds himself able to walk—something he never thought possible. Written by Marv Wolfman and illustrated with bold, dynamic precision by Howard Chaykin, this issue blends high-stakes adventure with the quiet wonder of discovery, while Roy G. Krenkel’s striking cover captures the moment of arrival in haunting detail.

With the ocean the fish-people live in being polluted by the on-going war between Unis and Kapar, they build a spaceship to take them to an aquatic world and ask Tangor to take it on a test flight. After launch, the spaceship is attacked by a pair of Kapar airships and is damaged while trying to outrun them. Unable to change course, Tangor comes to another planet where he is able to walk away from a crash landing.
