Beyond the Pale #2

The cover of this second chapter in Dark Horse's four-part series frames a peace symbol as a window between two worlds — military helicopters cutting through a warm orange sky on one side, and a massive, grotesque creature lurking amid dense jungle foliage on the other. The tagline "Belief in a cruel God makes a cruel man" sets an unsettling, philosophical tone that feels very much at home in 2024's darker corners of horror comics. Christofer Emgård and Tomás Aira have crafted something visually arresting here, with that central peace-sign motif doing quietly devastating work.
