As the Executioner pretends to be an old lieutenant of Zemo and lures Captain America into a trap in the Amazon jungle, the Enchantress uses her powers to hypnotize Thor, driving him to attack his fellow Avengers. Iron Man’s timely intervention breaks the spell, and Thor, regaining control, uses Mjolnir to open a temporal rift, banishing their enemies. Written by Stan Lee and Francisco Reina, with dynamic art by Jack Kirby and inks by Chic Stone, this 1999 issue features cover art by Kirby and Stone.

La Encantadora y el Verdugo son desterrados a la Tierra por Odín, en su deseo de destruir a Thor se aliarán con el Barón Zemo. El Verdugo, haciéndose pasar por un antiguo lugarteniente de Zemo, atraerá al Capitán América hacia una trampa en la selva amazónica donde se encuentra Zemo. Por otro lado la Encantadora hipnotiza a Thor y le manda enfrentarse con el resto de los Vengadores. La oportuna intervención de Iron Man sacará a Thor de su estado hipnótico, quién utilizará su martillo para crear una brecha espacio-temporal a través de la cual enviará al Barón Zemo, la Encantadora y el Verdugo.
