Bibop #5
*Bibop* vol. 5, subtitled *Folies Contagieuses* ("Contagious Craziness"), lives up to its title right on the cover, where a gang of wonderfully odd cartoon critters — a sleepy-eyed striped dog, a yellow duckling in polka dots, a flailing green creature, and a wide-eyed red bird mid-"Toc! Toc!" knock — burst with the kind of cheerful, absurdist energy that makes kids giggle on sight. Raymond Parent's character designs are full of rubbery charm, and the sheer variety of personalities crammed into one cover promises plenty of comedic chaos within. A lively 2014 offering from Boomerang Jeunesse that looks like a sure hit for young readers who enjoy their humor loud, silly, and gloriously contagious.
