In "The Bullion Bandits," Bill Boyd investigates a murder at a lumber camp where a man is found dead with blood stains covering the area. Boyd determines the victim was murdered rather than killed by accident, and sets out to discover the identity of the killer and their motive. Boyd confronts the camp foreman and his men, eventually pursuing two suspects who flee on horseback before he can apprehend them. The issue also includes a prose story featuring Windy and Uncle Jabe, in which Windy must rescue Uncle Jabe from a river after their wagon is swept away during a flood, demonstrating their friendship and loyalty to one another.
