Birds of Prey #29

Three armed women in striking costumes — one in gold and black, one in green, one in red — stand ready for battle as a horde of Viking warriors surges behind them, making the cover's tagline "The Ravens Return!" feel genuinely earned. A lone warrior figure looms in the upper corner, framed by rune-bordered edges that give the whole composition a mythic, Norse-flavored tension. Writer Chuck Dixon and artist Butch Guice bring confident energy to this 2001 chapter of Birds of Prey, and if "Valhalla, Baby!" is the story's subtitle, you can trust the cover delivers on that promise.
