Black Fury's peaceful grazing grounds are threatened when a scarred drifter named Turk—trained as a weapon by the ruthless fugitive Wid Nason—infiltrates the herd with orders to challenge the stallion's leadership. Black Fury senses the danger hidden in the strange horse's scent and must defend not only his position but his entire band from the men scheming to capture them for a bounty.

A greenhorn tries to deliver cash to his uncle's ranch, but a crooked gang—led by a man named Jack—has other plans: they'll sell him a wild outlaw horse and ambush him on the trail. Working with his accomplice Luis, El Caballo lays an elaborate trap in a canyon—but Luis, moved by compassion for the stallion, makes a choice that sets events in motion. When El Caballo moves to punish the betrayal, Black Fury returns with an unexpected ally in the darkness.
