Black Fury escapes and encounters a cougar, whose threat he evades through his speed and agility. An old man who once lived with the Apaches and knows horses well boasts that he can catch Black Fury, challenging younger men who doubt his abilities; he claims he can break the wild stallion and own it. The old man sets out to capture Black Fury for himself, aiming to prove he still possesses the skills and strength of his youth.
