Blonde Phantom Comics #15
In "The Man Who Deserved To Die," a mysterious murder at a remote lighthouse sets Namor and Namora on a trail of deception and danger. When the reclusive lighthouse keeper, known as "Father Time," is found dead with a skull and crossbones etched in the floor, the duo traces the crime to "Pirate" Fletcher—a flamboyant cafe owner with a dangerous past. With art by John Fagaly and a striking cover by Syd Shores, this 1947 thriller blends pulp intrigue and early superhero suspense in a tale where every clue leads deeper into a web of greed and betrayal.

“Pirate” Fletcher, a waterfront cafe owner who dresses like a pirate, offers to buy the stamp collection of “Father Time” the lighthouse keeper, but when the old man refuses to sell, Fletcher shoots him and steals the stamps. As he lay dying, “Father Time” uses the stem of his pipe to etch a skull and crossbones on the floor. When Namor and Namora pay the lighthouse keeper a visit, they find his dead body and the clue, and immediately suspect “Pirate” Fletcher. A quick visit to Fletcher's cafe confirms their suspicion as they catch “Pirate” selling the stamps to a shady stamp dealer.
