This German-language Goldmann edition of *Blondie* brings Chic Young's beloved domestic comedy strip to a new audience, with Young himself handling every line of the cover art. The cover sets the tone perfectly: a wide-eyed Dagwood gestures earnestly as he tells Blondie — in her polka-dot dress and curly auburn hair — "Eddy tut mir leid, seine Frau kommt heute zurück!" ("I feel sorry for Eddy, his wife comes back today!"), to which she fires back a perfectly timed "Wieso leid?" ("Why sorry?"). It's a wonderfully compact little joke that captures exactly why this strip has charmed readers for generations.
