Blood Alone #9
Volume 9 of Masayuki Takano's *Blood Alone* carries the series' signature mood beautifully — a young dark-haired girl and a calm, watchful young man share a richly upholstered red settee, their closeness quiet and protective rather than dramatic. The muted, painterly tones and intimate composition perfectly capture the gentle tension that defines this vampire series. Ki-oon's 2013 French edition is a lovely entry point or continuation for readers drawn to understated, atmospheric manga storytelling.
