“Rescue on Devil's Island”

In "Rescue on Devil's Island," a group of German archaeologists unwittingly awaken a monstrous gargoyle in a hidden cave, setting off a deadly chain of violence when the creature bonds with one of them through blood. When the terror escalates beyond their control, the mysterious Mr. Justice arrives to confront the ancient horror. Written by Joe Blair and illustrated by Sam Cooper, with a striking cover by Lin Streeter, this 1942 adventure blends wartime suspense with supernatural dread in a tale that’s as chilling as it is classic.
