When a wealthy rancher is murdered and the safe robbed at the Cattleman's Association, suspicion falls on John Laughinghorse—a rich, boisterous friend of the B-Bar-B crew whose flashy spending and car tracks at the scene make him an easy target for the sheriff. Bobby Benson and Tex Mason suspect their friend is being framed and begin investigating the real culprit, but John's impulsive nature and strength keep getting him into deeper trouble while they work to clear his name. The B-Bar-B boys race against time to prove the bookkeeper's embezzlement scheme was the true motive behind the murder before John's good intentions lead to disaster.

With his stomach growling and his wits as his only weapon, Windy has to outwit them both and find a way back to civilization.
