"On the Trail" kicks off in the dusty frontier town of Old Sage, where Wally Walrus, the local sheriff, enforces a strict ban on motor vehicles. When two elusive bandits on jeeps vanish into the desert, it’s up to visiting Woody and a group of kids on their trail bikes to track them down—riding on outlawed wheels in a town that’s never seen anything like it. Written by Vic Lockman and illustrated by Joe Messerli, with inks by Bill Wright and colors by the Western Publishing Production Shop, this 1979 adventure features a cover by John Carey.
