Aug 2001 · Dark Horse · 2.99 USD; 4.50 CAD
“Remember the Lies”

In "Remember the Lies," Buffy races to find Dawn after a cryptic trail leads her from the Magic Box to Spike’s crypt, where she’s met with tension and secrets. As the Japanese vampire’s servants steal the mysterious Eidu Amulet, Buffy confronts Giles, only to be met with silence—leaving her more confused than ever about the missing slayer. Written by Tom Fassbender and Jim Pascoe, with art by Cliff Richards and inks by Joe Pimentel, this issue deepens the mystery with quiet dread and emotional stakes, all rendered in Dave McCaig’s moody colors and Clem Robins’ sharp lettering. The cover, by Cliff Richards and Joe Pimentel, captures the moment’s intensity with stark, shadowed detail.

Buffy goes to the Magic Box to find Dawn, and Willow suggests that Dawn might be with Xander because she used to have a crush on him. Xander enters the shop and says that he hasn't seen Dawn. Buffy learns from Harmony that Dawn is at Spike's crypt and she goes there to take Dawn home. The servants of the Japanese vampire also go to the crypt and steal an object from Spike called the Eidu Amulet. Spike tells Buffy that Giles is withholding information from her about the missing slayer. When Buffy confronts Giles about the missing slayer, he refuses to tell Buffy anything about her.
