Giles explains that the Eidu are a sect of monk-like vampires who worship the Master. They will use their amulet to draw the Master's spirit out of the spirit dimension so it can enter a sacrificial body. Willow, Anya and Tara come up with a plan to stop the Eidu. When the gang reaches the site of the old high school they find that Xander is the sacrificial body. Buffy stakes Yuki, Willow and Tara prevent the Master's astral body from entering Xander, and Giles tries to kill the Master's astral body with a vapour blade. He loses the blade, and so Dawn kills the Master's astral body.
