In "Watchdog Rabbit," Bugs Bunny dons a discarded clown suit for a new gig at the circus—paired with Porky Pig perched on his shoulders—only to stumble into a job with a surprisingly dangerous history. The suit’s past is tied to Tondo the Elephant, whose memory of it is as long as his trunk, and whose rage is as unstoppable as his size. Written by Don R. Christensen and illustrated by Massimo Fecchi, with colors by the Western Publishing Production Shop, the cover by Ralph Heimdahl captures the absurd tension of the moment.

Dressing in a discarded clown suit, and with Porky standing atop Bugs’ shoulders, the pair get a job as a circus clown (singular). Unbeknownst to them, that particular clown suit was discarded because Tondo the Elephant goes into an uncontrollable rage whenever he sees it – and an elephant never forgets (a clown suit)!
