Bugs Bunny Annual #1980
In "Rescue Race," Bugs Bunny finds his peace—and his patience—tested when Sam’s dirt-biking antics directly above his hole turn his burrow into a rumbling nightmare. With Elmer uninterested in quieting the chaos, Bugs sets out to make the noise come to him—on his own terms. Written by Don R. Christensen and brought to life with energetic art by Tom McKimson, this 1980 annual offers a classic, fast-paced chase with the usual clever twists, all rendered in the distinctive style of the era.

Sam takes up dirt-biking and is given permission to ride around the far side of Elmer's property. This suits Elmer doubly-fine as it is far enough away from his house so as not to be bothered by the noise, and Sam does his loud riding directly above Bugs' rabbit hole. When Elmer shows no interest in abating the noise for Bugs, the rabbit takes steps to bring the noise to Elmer.
