At the funeral for his grandfather, Daikichi Kawachi discovers that the man was taking care of his six year old illegitimate daughter. Enraged when his family shuns the child, Daikichi volunteers to take her in and become Rin's surrogate father, even though he doesn't have the first clue as to how to raise a child.
