Cézembre #2
Malfin's Cézembre – Seconde Partie wraps up this two-part Aire Libre series with a cover image that is quietly haunting: a young woman in military-style clothing sits alone on a rocky, moonlit shore, gripping a small pail, her expression taut and watchful. Behind her, embers glow in a crevice to one side while a ruined stone chapel crowned with a cross rises from the jagged rocks — coils of barbed wire scattered around her completing a scene that speaks of isolation, wartime, and stubborn endurance. Malfin's cool blue palette gives the whole composition a melancholy, almost cinematic beauty that makes this 2019 Dupuis release a genuinely compelling piece of Franco-Belgian storytelling.
