With Cable swallowed by an Acanti ship and Bishop under the Brood Queen's control, Emil and Hope prepare to enter the last pair of terraforming pods and escape. Cable frees himself from the Acanti and is able to break the Brood's control over Bishop. With Hope securely in her pod, Emil gives his up to Cable so that the two can stay together. As Cable and Hope blast off, Emil detonates Bishop's bomb, sacrificing himself and killing all of the Brood in the process. Little does he know that Bishop has merged with an Acanti ship and is still on the trail of his prey.
