Captain America #12

Part two of "Shock to the System" arrives with a cover that puts Captain America front and center — shield raised, fist cocked, and bearing down on a weapon-toting figure in the foreground, all set against a burst of warm golden light that makes the scene crackle with urgency. Patch Zircher's linework (both pencils and inks) gives Cap a powerful, no-nonsense presence that suits Ed Brubaker's grittier take on the Star-Spangled Avenger perfectly. A great pickup for anyone following Brubaker and Zircher's 2012 run on Marvel's most patriotic hero.
