When a medieval-clad criminal calling himself the Black Knight begins terrorizing the city with futuristic weapons, Captain Flash suspects the villain is actually Dr. Conrad Kreuger, a brilliant but unstable scientist obsessed with knighthood. To draw out his quarry, Captain Flash issues a public challenge to trial by combat—a gauntlet Kreuger's medieval obsession won't allow him to ignore. The stage is set for a dawn duel at Whitney Dam, where science meets steel in a battle neither hero nor villain can afford to lose.
In 1955's "The Actor," Captain Flash faces a master criminal who can impersonate anyone so perfectly that witnesses swear they've seen respected citizens committing crimes—a jewelry store manager, a bank president, even a loan officer all caught red-handed, yet all denying any involvement. When Keith Spencer and his companion Ricky spot one of these robberies in Washington, D.C., they transform into Captain Flash to investigate, only to discover the criminal is a genius of disguise who's now set his sights on stealing valuable radium meant for a diplomatic presentation. As the confrontation intensifies at the ceremony, the Actor reveals his ultimate weapon: the ability to create duplicates of himself, leaving even Captain Flash struggling to identify which opponent holds the stolen goods.
When a mysterious criminal mastermind called Sound Wave launches a string of high-tech robberies across the city using simulated sound and stolen audio equipment, it falls to the quick-witted Janie Jackson—known to everyone as Tomboy—to track him down. Her investigation leads her to an unexpected connection: Sound Wave's backer is a man named Edgar, who's using the crimes to terrorize an elderly relative for his inheritance. Tomboy must use her wits and grit to stop Sound Wave's most ambitious scheme yet before his acoustic weapons cause real damage.
Captain Flash faces off against his mysterious nemesis the Mirror Man, who's kidnapping the world's greatest scientists attending a major atomic conference. With his foe's ability to vanish into any reflective surface, Flash must devise a clever trap to finally stop him—but his enemy proves as cunning as he is dangerous.
