About this Collection
This volume collects the first story arc of the 2016 Captain Marvel series, which renumbered the title as part of Marvel's post-Secret Wars relaunch. It follows Carol Danvers as she balances her duties as Earth's mightiest hero with her personal life, facing threats that test her power and resolve. The collection includes issues #1-6 of the series, written by Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters with art by Kris Anka and others.
In "The Enemy Within Part 1 of 5," Captain Marvel faces her greatest challenge yet as Yon-Rogg unleashes a terrifying new threat: the skyborne city of Kree-Lar, descending upon New York. With the Avengers at her side, she must uncover a way to stop the invasion before the city is crushed beneath it. Written by Kelly Sue DeConnick and illustrated by Scott Hepburn and Gerardo Sandoval, with colors by Andy Troy and letters by Joe Caramagna, the issue's dynamic art and escalating tension are perfectly captured in Joe Quinones’ striking cover.
